Did you guys know that they hired Rick Moranis for the part of Seymor Krelborn without knowing if he could sing?

If you are not well and are not in a place to take responsibiity for yourself then that is different , then you have my compassion, and I would look at those around you but if you are a high functioning adult… blaming others too much (no matter how justified or reasonable sounding) will ultimately clip our own wings, not give us more power to be the adults we want to be for ourselves and others IMO.

A few years back , I frogged jumped around to different therapists and I cannot tell you how much of what they said, suggested and concluded that I ignored. Much of our time together was useful but much of it was just not. I was 17 at the time and even I knew that I had to be responsible for my own choices. Pandyfackleeresque, you seem to blaming your choices on other people . Who was it that chose not to talk to your father after all?
Myself, I prefer to have the power in my own hands.

“In conjunction” is the accepted phrase, although “in conjuncture” is not technically incorrect. As to Rick Moranis, he did the McKenzie brothers thing several years before LSOH. One of their schticks was their version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” which was a big hit, and in which he sang. Sort of… Well, at least as well as he did as Seymour, anyway.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! It couldn’t have been easy (to say the least!) It’s amazing because it makes you wonder where was this therapist in the mid 90s when the false memory fiasco hit the fan? Either it’s complete ignorance or complete denial (I hate polarizing an issue but I’ll let this one go). Even in the face of evidence some (hopefully a small handful) of therapists still can’t accept/process that information and instead inflict more damage out into the world.

@HConstantine It means I like shiny things in my face and colourful things on my skin. I have no idea what cutting you’re talking about, though.

@AislinCade People are so quick to say that piercings/tattoos/anything out of the oridinary is a result of some messed up past. They’ll never accept that it can be a form of unrelented self-expression.

@HConstantine Err, self-expression? If you’re trying to draw a line between mental scarring and an enjoyment of mild body modification, your point will be lost on me. I’m a body mod enthusiast.

@AislinCade
Really? What do think all of that cutting/armor on her face means?

You need to seek legal advice against this woman.

Theosophy. Sweet Christ. Um, yeah, your therapist was a nutjob. In case you don’t already know, one option is to file a formal complaint with the agency that issued her license. Everything you describe is EXACTLY the sort of thing you should complain about. This person has no business doing any sort of therapy.

What you describe sounds very much like your “therapist” is projecting her experiences on YOU. The fact that 3 girls she was “treating” at the same time had the exact same experience (and based on your description she probably suggested the abuse to them as well) indicates that she probably was the one who was abused. Sad, but it still does not give her the right to do this to other, she should have resolved her own problems before she went on to treat others.

Fuck… I’m so sorry you went through that shit. None of it was your fault and that woman needs to lose her job before she does this to someone else.

“Sometimes you have to cut people out of your life.”
But that ex-boyfriend of yours was a nice guy. Huh. This is making me so angry… I’m glad you came through it without too much mental scarring.

That therapist of yours sounds like a feminist.

Called projection, doesn’t mean anything though. It could be that she is paranoid or feels that it happens to everyone

Apparently your mother was accepting of all of this? WOW! What Quackery!

6:00 red flag!!!! that tells me (again, if you didnt read my previous comments, im only 16 and have a slight knowledge of psychology that i read off the net) that it happened to the therapist, and she is coping with it by pushing it on her patients

So, it was ok to tell you to cut him out of your life, but not that loser boyfriend!?!

This sounds allot like scientology.

Completely hooked into this story of yours. Amazing and sad and frustrating. I also wanted to say, I love your wee mustache tattoo. Subbed, rated and sending others this way.

-____- It’s not your fault at all. You woke up from being brainwashed, and having a therapist use you. Do you know how many people really get out from under that? That’s why it’s so hard for people to leave cults. So it’s not your fault at all.
Comment by MistressArte — Friday, September 3, 2010 #
It’s not ALL my fault, I know.
Comment by PandyFackleresque — Friday, September 3, 2010 #
It is not your fault. Remember that ok?
