  2. According to my Bible, the lineage of Jesus Christ had been tampered by a Tamar who time travelled back into the Bible and messed up all of Jesus Christ ancestry and descendents. Who is Tamar – a psychiatrist who hates the Bible, a psychotic fucker, the anathema of humanity from the future. Luckily humanity stops at Jesus Christ, extinct.

  4. “Matthew’s genealogy is that of Joseph’s lineage”

No, adopted son cannot have his adopted father’s lineage.

Joseph’s line was disinherited because Joachim and he had no claim.

“Mary is also descendant of David ”

Mary as the mother cannot give lineage and she was not from David’s line through Solomon but through Nathan – no claim there either.

  5. Matthew’s genealogy is that of Joseph’s lineage, therefore Jesus was descendant of David according to the Law. The genealogy presented by Luke is that of Mary (where Eli is the name of Joachim who changed his name into Eliachim). Mary is also descendant of David therefore Jesus has claim to the house of David both by Law and Flesh.

  6. “It is true, the only Father of Jesus, God, made him the son of David.”

No, that made him the son of God. He had no earthly father to make him a son of the line of David.

  7. It was not any practice to call Jewish people by names of their ancestors (save the 3 names of patriarchs). Nobody called Salomon: son of Jesse. The title: the son of David: is the one of the messianic names.

    “Only his father could.”
It is true, the only Father of Jesus, God, made him the son of David.

  8. “Jesus is the son of David through Mary”

Mary could only make Jesus Jewish but could not give him any claim to the line of David. Only his father could.

  9. Jesus is the son of David through Mary. Jewish man could get married to woman only of his oun race. St. Matthiew wrote his Gospel for Jews, so he had to give the genealogy of man, because only “male” genealogy was respectet by Jews. Only man could be a witness.

  10. Sung very well, you can see that it is often performed not only for a single recording. :)

  12. Neither of the geneologies is relevant. Either Jesus is the son of Joseph or he is not. If he is the son of god, then he has no claim to the house of David. An adoptive father, by Jewish law, cannot pass his lineage to an adopted son. If he is the son of Joseph, he still has no claim to the house of David because Joseph’s line was disinherited. Being Mary’s son only means that he was Jewish. He cannot receive lineage from the mother. Jesus had no claim to the house of David.
