In reading an interview Tommy states “I change strings before each performance”. I remember thinking “thats unnecessary, I practice 3 hours a day, changing strings once each month or so”. My light bulb moment (or moment of clarity) came at the conclusion of this song, realizing those poor strings endure more stress and wear in the previous 6:29 than my strings endure in a year. Too bad strings don’t come with an odometer- how many times would they have tripped over to 000000 in that song.
