I feel very good. Like I want to go learn how to play some of those hard guitar riffs that I’ve been trying for a while now. Like I want to complete all of my online classwork. Invigorating. I’ll be looking into this more often. Thank you.

Not bad! I am studying hypnosis myself. I have become pretty good at it, but have always had trouble being hypnotized myself. I really felt relaxed during this short session though! Thanks!

I believe I saw into the eyes of Socrates and he wanted to share his knowledge with me because he can trust me with that knowledge. Thank you Richard

It was cool, I felt little tremors in my legs but then they melted away. My skin tingled too.

The exact quote was “It’s really easy to experience hypnosis. All you have to do is open your creative part of the mind and use the imagination to achieve the goals that you desire.” Which is far different that what you say I said. Because one doesn’t experience hypnosis does “not opening the creative part of the mind” is the only possibility. Maybe someone just doesn’t want to be hypno, or? perhaps they don’t like my tie, or are distracted, or a zillion other reasons.

Yes
both are the same in the fact you are letting your mind and body relax

@mikemikey1515 Thats why I said: “This has nothing do to with intelligence”. I felt quite insulted, when the doctor said: If you dont feel any effects, then you are not intelligent and you lack imagination. I have a university degree and I have a flourishing imagination. Simply, such words dont sound very professional and I dont think a professional therapist would say something like that. This video raises my sceptisism.

And yes, the reason why I didnt feel any effects probably has to do with the fact that I didnt really believe this to work, although I kindo hoped it would.
Comment by warita200 — Saturday, February 20, 2010 #
@sawarah, you said all of that very nicely. And I didnt mean to call anybody dumb, just because he was hypnotised (although I dont believe this to be hypnotism). I actually felt insulted when the doctor said: if you didnt feel hypnotised, that means you are not inteligent and you lack imagination. You know, that doesnt sound like something you would hear from a specialist. This video simply raises my sceptisism.

@warita200 Hope that was a helpful comment. Let’s all try to speak our minds with respect to one another.

@warita200 I think this sort of creates a trusting bond between your subconscious and the speaker, which leaves you open to their suggestions. But I don’t believe that it’s possible to control someone to do anything against their will. That’s why hypnosis has such a bad rap….you can’t just expect it to make you lose weight and quit smoking, even if you want to. Those are long term actions that your conscious mind can easily override despite what your subconscious wants.

@warita200 Certainly some intelligent people are analytical this way, but not all. I understand where you’re coming from, but the way you phrased your ideas could be considered an insult to anyone who is able to be hypnotized. I assure you that if you keep trying to let your mind go and relax, you would be able to do this. Also…it’s not as scary as you think. It’s really no different than meditating, only someone is talking to you and helping you relax. (more)

@warita200 I personally think it is not about being dumb, but rather more trusting and open. Those that are overly analytical have a hard time opening their minds to this type of thinking, and giving in to relaxing and letting their subconscious listen without analyzing all of the negative things they’ve heard about hypnosis being hokey, impossible, etc. I suppose a “dumb” person is not as likely to be analytical, but I don’t believe that analytical is synonymous to intelligent. well, actually it does make you intelligent, because otherwise you would not pass the exams and get the degree. Or do you think, that anybody can pass university exams? That just proves you have never seen an university from inside. And as for my supposed ignorance….. Hypnotism is about something else other than JUST heightened suggestibility. Suggestibility is smooth talking and nothing else. But if you want to believe that, go ahead, I wont spoil your fun.

I have used this to teach myself how to relax and focus on cue. It works if you practice it and believe it will work.
