Reiki is a form of holistic healing that originated in Japan. It is a way of magnifying the healing "ki" energy of the hands. Reiki uses the same kind of non-physical "ki" energy martial artists use to nourish the body's health and vitality. Reiki is safe, gentle and amazingly effective on many kinds of physical and emotional issues, and is rapidly becoming the most popular healing modality on the planet. It is very easy to learn the basics, yet new ways to use it constantly suggest themselves. Jessica Miller is a Reiki Master/ Teacher. She has been teaching Reiki since 1992. She is a licensed teacher for the International Center for Reiki Training. She regularly teaches classes in Pasadena, CA (Sierra Madre).   1. Hello Jessica,
    I was attuned to the second level Reiki last year and I felt very powerful for many months. Now I notice that I don’t seem to have the same flow of energy that I once had. It’s kind of like my Reiki healing has fizzled out like an old battery. I am not tired and I have no stress in my life. What could be causing this downturn?? I would welcome your opinion. Thanks.

  13. Nice! That was so random — LOL

    I think she is a gem — she’s bringing to light things that will become standard practice in 20 years — by then she’ll be a high level master. I especially like her stuff on using sound. I teach “Harmonic Resonance” and “Energization Exercises” so what she is doing meshes perfectly with what I teach. I’d love to put on a seminar with her — anyone know how to contact her?

I like that you’re seeking to understand Reiki without automatically condemning it as some science-minded people do.

  18. So in context the ‘life’ in ‘universal life force’ means the cause of existence of all matter and energy in the universe. This meaning of life assumes everything is alive then? Subatomically every single atom in the universe (including our bodys’) are always in motion and this motion is known as temperature. Interesting part is that ‘living’ and ‘non-livng’ are completely indistinguishable at this level. Possibly ‘life force’ is meant to be exactly that. Is Ki energy consciousness?

  19. I don’t think it can be scientifically measured. It’s also not a matter of faith: you don’t need to believe in Reiki to get its benefit. What I mean by Universal Life Force energy is the energy that composes everything. According to physics, if I’m not mistaken, everything is energy. Reiki is that energy. Being a practitioner allows you to be a conduit of that energy and focus it in a manner that allows for healing. I’ve seen many who doctors told had no chance heal totally with Reiki.

  20. What do you exactly mean by ‘life force’? The mysterious part is ‘Universal’. So far we only know the life on Earth, and Earth is like a grain of a sand in the infinitely large sand beach of Universe. ‘Universal Life Force’ implies that there is abundance of life in the Universe. I might be interpreting wrong thats why I need clarification. I see potential in Reiki as you mentioned your stepfather, but what is the source of Reiki and what is it made of? Thanks.

  21. Reiki is Universal Life Force energy. The energy that composes everything, that’s Reiki. And you mentioned headaches. My stepfather had a chronic headache for twenty years that was so debilitating he was living on disability. Doctors gave up all hope and prescribed him so many painkillers he had no kind of life. Then he opened his eyes to Reiki, which my mom had used to heal Crohn’s and lupus, a truly fatal combination equated to full blown cancer, and has been headache free a decade.

  24. Before Reiki starts flowing in me, I would like to know what it is made of. It may have more potential than just clearing the headaches. May be it is the missing block of Theory of Everything, or may be it is some force from some other dimension. Or, may be as Cosmic Background Radiation, it may tell something about the creation of the Universe. I am not ready to use Ki as a substitute of painkillers.
